Yosai Nobukazu (1872–1944)

Yosai Nobukazu was a student of Yoshu Chikayanagi. He gained fame primarily for creating nishiki-e (color woodblock prints) depicting war scenes from events like the First Sino-Japanese War and the Russo-Japanese War. Additionally, he produced works in the genres of bijin-ga (pictures of beautiful women), fuzoku-ga (genre scenes), expositions, constitution-related themes, national assembly depictions, and series on "Famous Places of Tokyo." He also created triptychs like "Illustration of Proceedings in the Imperial Diet of Japan" and "Scenes of Ueno Park, Famous Place in Tokyo."
